Throughout history, many names have been placed upon Aboriginal Americans, especially of Northeast and Southeast America. Some of those names of the original eastern woodland inhabitants and their descendants include the following misleading labels: Savages, Indians, Negro, Colored, Black, and African-American.  According to the the Webster’s Dictionary of 1828, the definition of American is:

AMER’ICAN, adjective Pertaining to America.

AMER’ICAN, noun A native of America; originally applied to the aboriginals, or copper-colored races, found here by the Europeans; but now applied to the descendants of Europeans born in America.

The name American must always exalt the pride of patriotism. – Washington

This website is dedicated to the Aboriginal Americans of the western hemispheres and their descendants who over time have been misclassified. American history is ancient as are her people. The vast majority of dark-complexioned Americans have neither any family history of slavery nor coming from other lands. The reader is encouraged to do their own family research to become acquainted with their own family stories as every family story is unique. This website is dedicated to the legacy and honor of our American Aborigine ancestors as described by Webster, and to the overall health, wellness and education of their descendants.

The goal is to help reconnect mislabeled Aboriginal Americans with their true past and historical ties to the Americas.
